Burgers are on the menu, and Jennifer has a recipe that minimizes the bad stuff without sacrificing the flavors you crave.
Serves 4

1 pound lean ground sirloin
1 cup chopped mushrooms
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
cooking spray
4 ciabatta rolls, sliced
4 Romaine lettuce leaves
4 large tomato slices
4 tablespoons barbecue sauce for garnish

Preheat oven to 400° F. Place the sirloin, mushrooms and barbecue sauce in a large bowl. Mix well to combine. Form into patties and chill at least one hour before cooking.

Heat large skillet over high heat. Coat with a thick layer of cooking spray. Add the burgers and cook 3 to 4 minutes, without moving until the burgers are well brown. Flip and brown 1 additional minute. Slide into the oven and cook 5 to 6 minutes more until the burgers are slightly pink in the centers. Transfer to a plate. Toast the buns and place the burgers on top. Drizzle over the bbq sauce and top with lettuce and tomato. Serve immediately.
